It’s officially 16 degrees outside right now as I am writing this. Even though I am in the comfort of my warm home, just thinking about how cold it’s going to be when I leave in the morning makes me want to wrap up in this blanket scarf right now.
It’s not the snow, slush, ice or over cast weather that makes me detest the winter months, but the wind. The bitter cold wind that comes into the valley and literally freezes your nose, mouth and lungs. Wind chill makes everything that much colder and the only way to stop the madness that is the 16 degree breeze… is a blanket scarf.
Sure, blanket scarves became all the rage when Zara released its oversized plaid version a few years ago (Which I own, and yes it really is as amazing as everyone claims). The benefit of the blanket scarf becoming main stream not only allowed us to realize that they are comfortable and adorable but are extremely functional in the below freezing temperatures, which hasn’t gone out of style. It almost reminds me of the Ugg boot trend that everyone got so sick of… unless you live in freezing temperatures and then it isn’t a trend but a necessity. Now that blanket scarves are not only a trend but a staple, it is much easier to find a multitude of options at any price point. Although this is good news, it also gives me the horrible problem of buying way too many of them then I actually need.
So with my shopping problem comes a few of my favorite blanket scarf picks for the season and all on sale under the $50 price point… Now you can see why I cannot stop buying them. How many blanket scarves do you own? Hopefully I am not the only one with this strange obsession!
