In the Business of Black and White

Black and White Office Wear

Majority of us surround our week by planning out what to wear to work. Working in an office setting, most of us use the term “business dress” or even “business casual” to adhere to company standards. However, on Fridays or on the weekends going out, following in a business like manor, outfits can become classic and chic. Maybe it’t the fact that I am extremely attracted to all things menswear, (bowties included) but taking the art of office wear out on your time off is such a classic look of power. [Read more…]

What to Wear to a Wedding – Part 2

Matching Lace Set

Wedding season is certainly in full swing as I add new engagement photos and invitations to my fridge. For part 2 of my ‘What to Wear to a Wedding’ series, I wanted to bring something a little bit more non-traditional.

Over the past few seasons the matching set has become a very classic staple, from traditional 2-piece women’s wear business suits, matching short suits, all the way to skirt and crop top sets. This pairing has even been seen on the runway, inspiring the latest wedding dresses. Why not take this stylish approach to our wedding guest apparel? [Read more…]

What to Wear to a Wedding – Part 1

Yellow Midi Pencil Dress

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

I am super excited to dedicate today and Wednesday’s post to some fun wedding wear outfit ideas. One of my best friends is getting married in a few weeks and I have been getting so many questions from friends and family on what to wear. Granted she’s fun and unique by throwing not only a wedding, but a full traditional luau for her soon to be husband. Regardless of the events, we can all use some ideas on wedding outfit inspiration. Denim Tuxedo

Canadian Tuxedo

Somedays you have the best intentions but they never seem to go as planned.

Recently, I took on the task of attempting hot rollers, to potentially save some time in the curling department. I am not quite sure why I missed the girlie girl gene but every time I attempt to do something “new” with my hair, it’s a struggle. I pretty much maintain 3 key hairstyles, curly, straight, and the high/low ponytail. That’s about as exciting as it get folks. So not exactly sure why I decided to attempt this, but alas it was quite the failure. I put them in starting from the bottom, wrong. I curled them in towards my hair, wrong, and I didn’t do a section through the middle, I just followed my natural part… wrong. The only genius idea I had was watching a youtube video on how exactly to do your hair… while my rollers were sitting.  [Read more…]

Sale Season

Sale season is on the rise and is our wallets worst nightmare. Stores are clearing out Springs most coveted pieces and making room for Summer. You will find all your recent obsessions slashed at least 25-70% off, which is reason enough for me to hand over my wages. From sky blue Hunter boots to the fringe Stuart Weiztman nudists  I’ve been lusting over are now on sale, along with a shorter leopard print version at half the price. Even designer items like this unreal Alexander Wang Rocco all the way to this leather sleeve black and white jacket (at 70% off might I add!). Check out some of my favorite below and be sure to take advantage of all Shopbop’s latest markdowns before its too late…

Now to make matters even worse, Kate Spade has released its Secret Sale. The only problem is, you only have 2 days to shop before the sale close and all the amazing deals are gone! Clearly Kate Spade headquarters must have seen my lemon obsession board because the plethora of lemon print accessories is enough to make me shove a lemon bar strait into my mouth. Also, incase I failed to mention, all the items in the secret sale are MORE than 50% off…

Now to just put a cherry on top, Amazon Fashion is offering 20% off all fashion related products. Just be sure to use the code: FUN20SUN from now until 5/25 to get the extra discount on your purchase!

If that doesn’t quite sum up the insanity that is currently sale season then let me remind you that Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale starts TODAY! Save up to 40% at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale on Men, Women & Kids styles, while supplies last through May 31!

Good Luck!
